Every luminaire begins in our R&D department, where mechanical, electronic and optical design work side by side under one roof. Our phLAB laboratory validates each solution with a goniophotometer, integrating sphere, climatic chamber and IP/IK testing before series production.

Roads and tunnels are governed by different standards — UNI 11248 and EN 13201 for road lighting, UNI 11095 and CIE 88 for tunnels — each with its own thresholds for luminance, uniformity and glare. Before proposing a solution, our engineers run a full lighting calculation that checks every parameter against the required threshold, for each application.

Classification

Lighting class (M, C, P) for roads to UNI 11248, or visual adaptation zones — threshold, transition, interior — for tunnels to UNI 11095.

Geometric model

Road or tunnel cross-section, mounting height, spacing between light points and luminaire tilt.

Photometric calculation

Illuminance (lux), luminance (cd/m²), uniformity and glare (TI) to EN 13201; threshold luminance and adaptation curve to CIE 88 for tunnels.

Verification and reporting

Comparison against the minimum thresholds of the standard and generation of isolux curves for the project documentation.

Calculation compliant with UNI 11248, EN 13201, UNI 11095 and CIE 88, included in our preliminary technical consultancy.
